In short - We loved the movie.
The movie revolves around a happy marriage which suddenly comes to a halt when the husband slaps his wife in front of everyone in a party. With this 'Thappad', the wife re-evaluates her life and the many things she had to let go for the sake of a happy marriage.
The plot of the movie is simple, but strong. As a women I could connect with the number of times we have compromised things in our lives for our husbands. The many friends and relatives we had to let go just because the husband wasn't comfortable. Or the job opportunities we had to let go because "who will take care of the child?"
What I loved the most about the movie was the way the story was presented. Nothing seemed out of the way or overly done. It was simple, true and to earth. Defiantly relatable.
