Not sure about you guys, but I was devastated by Jughead's death with a ton of questions running through my mind. Would Betty really kill Jughead, could it be possible Bret had already killed him while framing Betty for the murder, was this a usual rue from the original plot or worst - Was Cole Sprouse leaving Riverdale?
While the show wants us to think that Jughead is dead and there was a small glimpse of a burial, but does that really count? Up until the party we saw what happened, but its not like Riverdale to keep things straight.
We saw a glimpse from Episode 4, “Chapter Sixty-One: Halloween,” where Betty and F.P. are seen in coroner’s office identifying Jughead’s body. While the flash-forward scenes from Episodes 5 and 8 show Archie, Veronica, and Betty being hand cuffed after being charged with Jughead’s murder.
By Episode 13, “Chapter Seventy: The Ides of March,” Donna tries to unravel Betty’s dark side by using trigger words to hypnotise her into killing her friends and family. Archie and Veronica show up in the woods only to find Betty in a daze, standing in front of Jughead’s body with a bloody rock in her hand.
Archie rushes to check Jughead’s pulse, and not finding one he says Jughead is dead. Though the series wants us to think Jughead is really dead, but knowing Riverdale, this just seems to be another twist in the plot.
So far, Cole has neither confirmed nor denied leaving the show. But we do know there is a Season 5 coming ahead and we also know, while Archie did not find a pulse on Jughead, Jughead still continues to narrate the story even after his death.
“My theory is that he isn’t dead,” one Reddit user wrote. “Those scenes are from the script of ‘The Perfect Murder’ he’s writing, and that is what they’ve been showing to throw us off and make us watch more — There’s no way they’d actually kill off a main character as important as Jughead.”
To conclude, we may not see much of Jughead now, but we do know that he would be the voice to narrate the mysteries of Riverdale. Meanwhile working its way into Season 5 with a big come back. Fingers crossed!
